There I was standing masked at my small bank trying to make my end of year retirement contribution and related transactions. I like my little bank and know most of the staff. I did not want to go inside but knew that shouting instructions through the drive thru speakers would be worse. Or so I thought. First misgiving was realizing that the floor manager manning the teller station was not wearing a mask. Neither were most of the other patrons standing in line. I slid my deposit under the plexiglass shield just in time for her phone to ring.

Yes…

No…

I definitely spent more that 15 minutes working close to him…

No. I do not wear a mask because I was told that it was not mandatory…

At this point I found myself slowly backing up and checking the nose fit on my mask.

Okay. Guess I cannot do anything about it…

She hung up, processed my transactions and pushed my ID and receipts back under the shield. Thank goodness there was a bottle of sanitizer at the booth. You ever seen what alcohol gel does to a bank receipt?

Next!

Seriously my friends, stay safe out there and be kind to each other.
