Asian eDiscovery Note: Hudson Legal is primarily a managed review service that has experience with CJK document reviews overseas and in the US. Hudson does not offer full scale eDiscovery services and partners with companies like Kroll Ontrack as processing partners. Hudson has a small team in Hong Kong (approximately 2 people) that manages the hiring of contract reviewers and workflow of the projects. If projects get beyond a certain size, they will send a US project management resource to support the local team. Hudson Legal is allowing for organic growth based on projects in the Asian marketplace which is typical for US companies looking to cautiously break into that market. They have carved out alliances with a few Chinese law firms, but those relationships are not well defined and may require special permits due to regulatory concerns. eDJ does not see Hudson as a major player in the Asian market at this time, but that may change if they are able to land some large projects that accelerate their growth in the region.

Hudson Legal has a well-respected group of consultants with experiences on large, complex matters. The company will need to find a way to differentiate itself in a very competitive market with many, similar providers.
